Carlos Bastias
Special Operations Manager

Carlos was in the Chilean Navy for 10 years and got a degree in Maritime Engineering from the Polytechnic Naval Academy. He later joined Ultratug in 1986 as a Master of AHTS vessels working at the Magellan Straight, where he acquired experience in complex maneuvers and offshore operations. Between 1991 and 1994 he was in charge of operating a fleet of 12 vessels based in Magallanes, and continued participating in Salvage Operations together with Smit Task. In 1995, he was moved to the Head Office in Chile as Operation Manager and received special training in England and Holland to perform as Salvage Master. In the following years, he was heavily involved in complicated salvages cases happening in the Chilean fiords and represented Ultratug in some operations together with Nippon, Smit, Wisjmuller, Titan and others. At present he leads the development of Special Operations & Salvage activities in the 8 countries where Ultratug Group has presence. He is a Chilean citizen and resides in Santiago, Chile.

Jorge Taulis
Commercial Manager Remolcadores Ultratug Ltda.

Jorge joined the Ultramar Group in 2001 and has since then been working in different commercial and development positions within the different Corporate Holdings. Until 2010 he was the Commercial Manager for the Container and Feeder operations within the WCSA including Chilean Cabotage. In 2011 he was seconded to Colombia as Head of Projects and Development for Naves Agency (owned by Ultramar) for three years. Where after he returned to Chile and was promoted within Ultratug Holding to Development Manager for the new Colombian tug operation (Coltugs) that started in 2014. In the beginning of 2015 he was again seconded to Colombia as General Manager for Coltugs. In mid-2017 he returned to Chile as Head of the Commercial department and as Commercial coordinator within regional offices . Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Taulis worked for the shipping, industrial and winery sectors always in commercial and development positions. Mr. Taulis is an Industrial Engineer from Universidad de Chile. He is a Chilean citizen and resides in Santiago, Chile.

Nils Stolzenbach
Operations Manager

Nils joined Ultratug in 2008 and has since been in different managerial positions. Until 2011, he was Business Development Manager for the company. After that he was appointed as CEO for Urutug and Transfluvial in Uruguay; both companies are sister companies from Ultratug. One of the main challenges was to start running Transfluvial, a new business for the whole Ultramar Group. In 2016 he was Commercial Manager at Ultratug Chile and mid-2017 he has resumed as Business Development Manager. Prior to join Ultratug, he worked in different companies in Chile and in Germany. Mr. Stolzenbach is Business Manager from Tübingen University in Germany. Additionally he completed the Advanced Management Program at ESE Business School in Santiago. He is a Chilean citizen and lives in Santiago, Chile.
